Swine Flu Takes A Turn In India

Just when we thought we were in the clear, H1N1 better known as “Swine Flu” has reared its ugly head once again. Pune, IndiaEarlier this year Swine Flu was the main health topic at the moment gripping the nation. Originated in Mexico, Swine Flu has found its way to the States; here in NY alone there were several confirmed cases of people being infected including quite a few deaths. The virus in its short time has already spread to more than 70 countries.

Talk about the flu dwindled down and everyone seemed to think it died off on its own. Most recently people realized the flu is very much still spreading and has recently done a lot of damage in India. There are currently more than 500 confirmed cases of Swine Flu in the country particularly in the city of Pune. Just last week a 14-year-old girl was the first victim of Swine Flu in the city which sent a widespread frenzy of hospitals being packed with people waiting to get the vaccination.

As a repercussion, there are talks that a Swine Flu vaccine will be available as early as September. Mexico Obama CanadaThe vaccine will likely be initially available to pregnant women, children and the elderly. President Obama is currently meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to discuss the best moves to impede the virus.

  1. They just started testing the vaccine out on humans, anyone here of any side effects yet???
