Keeping The Doors Open: Holy Trinity Community School

Filed under: Chat 'bout — Felicia @ 7:07 pm is a site i’ve dedicated to everything related to music, pop culture and everything in between through my views as a journalist. I enjoy taking you on my daily endeavours when it comes to projects i’m currently working on, interviews i’ve conducted and interesting people along the way. While I like to keep the information I post relevant, I wanted to take a moment to focus on children and education.

With today’s looming economy, many businesses have suffered, homes have been lost and several hundred thousand families; correction, several million families have lost jobs and find it very difficult to keep things afloat. One of the few things we have to hold onto which seems promising is our children’s education. However that too has come into the forefront as a cause for new concern.

Holy Trinity Community School in Hollis Park Gardens, Queens has been educating the children from pre-school to 8th grade since the school’s inception in 1976. The school prides itself on being unique unto themselves by educating “the ‘whole’ child, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically”.

Holy Trinity Community School has been faced with the impending probability that they may one day have to shut its doors. In doing so not only would the school shut its doors to the educators and staff causing additional job losses, but it will also be forced to shut its doors to all students who currently attend and have planned to enroll in the coming years.

The Pastor and Principal along with the support of teachers, staff, former students, parents and the whole community are asking for your help and support in assisting to keep the doors of Holy Trinity Community School open. Parents have already gathered to show their support with kind words of how Holy Trinity has helped their children succeed:

“Holy Trinity has become a wonderful blessing for my son because he has improved in reading. His teacher is wonderful. His reading teacher has done wonders for him”.

“The standards of the school are high and the teachers are all excellent. I like that the school includes religious teachings for the kids. Keep up the good work”.

I appreciate the close communication with the teachers. I feel my daughter receives more individualized attention.”

The school has touched so many students and parents. One of the things our country prides itself on is education. Please lend a helping hand, or simply a helpful voice to keep Holy Trinity Community School’s doors open, so children can continue to get the education they desperately need and deserve.
