The Hot Boys Are On Fire Again!

The Hot BoysWho would have thought 10 or so years ago that out of the original Hot Boys, Lil Wayne would be the one still around smashing out his rap counterparts? I would have put my college degree on it that B.G. or Juvenile would be the ones still on top today.

You couldn’t tell me that B.G. and Juve weren’t nice. When B.G. dropped “Help” from Guerilla Warfare that definitely had me open. I guess at the end of the day, when you seal the deal with a kiss you’re destined to shine. B.G.

Well word on the street is that the Nolia boys have all signed on and agreed to do a Hot Boys reunion pretty soon. No official word just yet if Turk has signed on, but if he knows what’s good for him and want a little piece of that Weezy money he would.

In college I was transitioning out of the sense that only rappers from the north were hot; funny considering that I had been in Florida for a good portion of my life at that point. But in school I met folks from all walks of life who encouraged me to step outside the box and become more open to other rappers. Triple 6 Mafia and the Hot Boys were two of the groups I initially latched on to first. I always liked Trick Daddy, but a lot of these artists in my own little head weren’t ‘CD purchase worthy’.

So in honor of this pending Hot Boys reunion, I’d like to share some of my favorite songs from the individual members from back in my college days. The Hot Boys is back on fire!
